Special Products R&D conducts fundamental and applied science to develop and demonstrate novel chemistries used in the following application areas:
- Reservoir Stimulation
- Drilling Fluids
- Oil & Gas Production Operations
Our mission is to work closely with the operations and R&D groups of our customers. In so doing, we are better able to invent and bring to market new, fit-for-purpose technology. At Special Products, our scientists have many years of experience in all phases of well drilling, completion, stimulation and production. We like to work closely with our customers R&D personnel to help lead the way using the theme "Chemicals for the Innovative". .
Our state-of-the-art Technical and Research Center is located in Houston, Texas. The research and development center is staffed with 50 professionals dedicated to providing chemical solutions to a host of oilfield needs. Our lab facility is 20,000 sq. ft. with 32 workstations; and our plans to double that size in the near future. The facility also includes a fully equipped 75-person state-of-the-art auditorium for internal and external technology transfer.
The Special Products group has five full-time chemists dedicated to projects that are unique to Special Products. In the Research Center, the Special Products group is able to draw heavily upon a large variety of resources
The Houston location also houses HS&E, purchasing and supply chain managers, quality managers and various product and marketing professionals.
