Champion Technologies wins Noble Energy West Africa deepwater contract.

Champion Technologies recently secured a major deepwater chemical management services contract in West Africa.

This involves a full suite of chemicals and associated support services for Noble Energy’s Aseng Field Development project in Equatorial Guinea, West Africa.

"An effective flow management strategy is vital to ensuring a successful start-up for this deepwater development," said Hans Oschmann, Champion Technologies’ Flow Assurance Leader. "The development of a best-in-class pour point depressant by the Champion Technologies team at our Delden, Netherlands Technology Center was key to securing this business on technical performance."

Champion Technologies will operate from Luba&rsqu;s Freeport Zone, which will include office space, a fit-for-purpose laboratory, warehouse, and a blending facility. "We are looking forward to mobilizing our start-up team and we are confident that we will deliver a successful performance for Champion Technologies and Noble Energy. West Africa has been a strategic geography for us for some time, so we are delighted with this win," said EH West Division Manager, Harry Montgomerie.

Champion Technologies will assist Noble Energy in tackling the challenges faced in producing, storing and transporting crude oil, which is solid at room temperature, using key products from Champion Technologies’ flow assurance portfolio. The project will also involve the use of a deepwater FPSO, which is currently located in Singapore and will be heading to Equatorial Guinea in the fourth quarter of 2011.
